THE FLAT

THE FLAT

The Area

Set in the heart of Dorset, we are situated close to the market towns of Sturminster Newton, Blandford Forum, Sherborne and Dorchester. With far-reaching picturesque countryside views, it is also no more than forty-five minutes from the Jurassic Coast, famous for stunning beaches along the South West Coast Path. Dorset has a reputation for award-winning pubs and seafood restaurants. We're in a great spot if you want to break your journey to or on your return from Cornwall

The Space

The accommodation at Locketts is self-contained and is accessed up a couple of steps, so sadly isn't suitable for wheelchair users. There is a good size bedroom with a comfortable double bed and TV. Adjoining the room is a shower room with loo. The main living area is open-plan with a well equipped kitchen which includes a fridge-freezer, oven and microwave and tea and coffee making facilities. There is both an area for dining and for relaxing. Freeview, Netflix (if you have an account) and a DVD player along with a great selection of DVD's are also provided. You will find provisions for breakfast which include eggs, bacon, bread, milk and fruit juice. In addition, there is a well equipped utility room with a washing machine, iron & ironing board and sink.

We can accommodate one dog by prior agreement at an additional charge of £5 per night, payable on arrival. However a deposit will be required, payable via BACS 24 hours prior to arrival. The monies will be returned via BACS within 24 hours after check out. If required the relevant details will be sent following confirmation of booking. For those who have horses we are also happy to accommodate up to two and for this there is an additional charge of £25 per night per horse, again payable on arrival. Straw and haylage are provided but not hard feed.

Guest Access

We live in a very beautiful part of Dorset and our farm is purely grassland with horses grazing in the main and at certain times of the year sheep. Guests are welcome to enjoy the farm both for themselves or to walk their dog if they have one (albeit it must be kept on a lead). There is a small outside area which has a table and two chairs where guests can enjoy the evening sun and a BBQ. This is not directly accessible but is easily reached and is convenient to the accommodation.

Other Things to Note...

We are a busy family farm and have a number of friendly dogs, chickens, pigs and horses.. oh and a cat. There is always someone about to help, that said the flat is private and guests can come and go as they please. We are quite remote but make sure guests are given clear directions (which include photographs) on how to find us along with communication in the form of a "pindrop" of our location prior to the day of arrival. We like the whereabouts of our home to be discreet hence there aren't any "Locketts" signs but we do our utmost to make sure guests can find us - which to date they have.

Have a look around...
